Oatmeal

Dairy-Free

Soy-Free

Oatmeal is my favorite breakfast to have during the work week, as it's quick to make and it really fills me up to get through the morning.

I like to use quick-cooking oats, as it only takes a few minutes to cook the oatmeal.

Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • 0.5 Cups of Quick-Cooking Oatmeal
  • 1.25 Cups of Water
  • 0.5 Cups of Fresh or Frozen Fruit (Blueberries work best!)
  • 1.5 Tablespoons of Unsalted Peanuts (optional)

Directions

  1. Prepare the oatmeal according to the packaging direction, but add extra water if including frozen fruit later
  2. Add the frozen fruit to a bowl and pour in the cooked oatmeal; mix thoroughly to get the frozen fruit covered to defrost
  3. Top with any additional toppings, such as peanuts or cinnamon

Tips

  • My favorite oatmeal to use is Organic Sprouted Rolled Oats from One Degree Organic Foods.
  • If using frozen fruit, add extra liquid when cooking the oatmeal to help quickly defrost the frozen fruit with the very hot (extra) water.
  • If adding peanuts, make sure to use unsalted peanuts, as the salted version does work well in oatmeal.
