Hot Chocolate
Hot chocolate is the ultimate comfort drink — rich, warm, and deeply satisfying.
This recipe uses dark chocolate chips that get melted into unsweetened almond milk to create a smooth and slightly thick taste.
This hot chocolate tastes like a liquid brownie!
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups of Almond Milk (unsweetened)
- 1/3 cup of Allergy-Friendly Chocolate Chips (recommendation: Guittard Extra Dark Chocolate Chips)
- 0.25 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
- Marshmallows (as a topping)
Directions
- Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan
- Mix frequently to help the chocolate chips melt into the almond milk
- Bring the hot chocolate to a low simmer (not to boiling). It should take about 10 minutes
- Pour into a large mug and top with marshmallows (if desired).
Tips
- I prefer not using cocoa powder when making hot chocolate, as I find that it creates a chalky taste to the hot chocolate.
- The vanilla extract helps to enhance the chocolate flavor.
