Hot Chocolate

Dairy-Free

Soy-Free

Hot chocolate is the ultimate comfort drink — rich, warm, and deeply satisfying.

This recipe uses dark chocolate chips that get melted into unsweetened almond milk to create a smooth and slightly thick taste.

This hot chocolate tastes like a liquid brownie!

Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups of Almond Milk (unsweetened)
  • 1/3 cup of Allergy-Friendly Chocolate Chips (recommendation: Guittard Extra Dark Chocolate Chips)
  • 0.25 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
  • Marshmallows (as a topping)

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan
  2. Mix frequently to help the chocolate chips melt into the almond milk
  3. Bring the hot chocolate to a low simmer (not to boiling). It should take about 10 minutes
  4. Pour into a large mug and top with marshmallows (if desired).

Tips

  • I prefer not using cocoa powder when making hot chocolate, as I find that it creates a chalky taste to the hot chocolate.
  • The vanilla extract helps to enhance the chocolate flavor.
